I've been thinking that this community needs more activities happening.

We hardly know a thing about each other apart from when we see each other nominating a movie that we like. So to try and broaden that fact, my idea is this:

Go to YouTube.com and find a scene from your favourite movie and share it with us all. IT might get us talking a bit more about our fave movies - and besides, we don't have a movie for this weekend with the way the new schedule took over ;)

Or...even feel free to make a post with a movie quote and see who else recognises it.

Maybe even use a screencap.

Ooh, I just thought that it would be cool for us to have things like that as a running contest. Someone posts a screencap or quote from a movie and the first (or 1st to 3rd) get a prize from the person posting - something as easy as an icon based on the movie or anything.

OK gang, the winning movie was supposed to be announced just now...

But it's a tie. Both movies have 2 votes.

If you haven't voted, please go and pick a movie. And remember you can't vote on your own nominations.

Anyone got any ideas on a decent way to get past a tie again in the future? I'm open to ideas.

Here we go...we've got two movies to decide on this time around. This is open until Saturday. Winner o be announced on Sunday so that we can track it down a bit easier.

Poll #928068 Voting Time

And the nominees are...

A Life Less Ordinary

May I remind you that you are not allowed to vite on your own nomination.

Time to nominate a movie.

Also feel free to talk about Equilibrium - I couldn't find my DVD :(

So, the new schedule seems like...

Monday to Wednesday is open for nominating a movie.

Thursday to Saturday is open for voting.

The winning movie is decided on Sunday. That gives you the whole week from that point onwards to track down a movie.

That means that we will decide on a movie this weekend for us to watch next weekend.

So this weekend, you can eiter take time off and not bother with a movie - or use it as time to watch your favourite movie and post abvout that. It might get the ball rollig a bit ;)

So, in closing, may I remind you to Nominate a movie in a reply to this post ;) Thanks!

Equilibrium is the winning movie for this weekend.

As for the poll that ponkie made, it looks like you are all behind it, nobody has said No to anything anyway - it looks we will be changing the schedule of things around here soon ;)

Many thanks to everyone for helping make this place as great as it is - it would be nothing without you all :D

So I just posted this as a comment on the the_duke's voting post - however, he told me to post to the community and get your opinions as well.

Essentially what I'm proposing is a new schedule where we vote for the new movie over the weekend, and then watch that movie the following weekend. Basically just staggering the movies.

Friday-Sunday: Watch this weeks movie & vote for next weeks movie.
Monday-Thurday: Discuss this weeks movie & track down next weekends movie & nominate (for two weeks from now).

I'm suggesting this simply because one day notice is not a reasonable amount of time for me to get the movie. I, myself have a netflix account and to me it would seem ridiculous to then go out and rent a movie just so I can watch the movie over the weekend. Whereas if I had a few days notice I could just bump the winning movie to the top of my queue and receive it by the weekend.

I'm guessing there are more of you in this community who have a mail-in rental service as this is a community for movie loves, but I could be wrong.

Either way, I think having more time to obtain the chosen movie is good for everyone because sometimes you just have a busy week and don't have time to hunt down the movie and for those who download, well sometimes, it's just a long ordeal.

So, what are you thoughts on this? Please fill out the poll and comment cause I really wanna know what you think as this is a community driven community!!

Poll #923482 New Schedule

The proposed new schedule is...

a good idea.
a bad idea.

I prefer...

the schedule we're currently using.
the newly proposed schedule.
neither, I will comment with my own schedule! BWAHAHHA

Princess Bride was the winning movie for this weekend.

I'm looking forward to tracking this down to watch as I have never seen it - and I'm aware of the cult following it has. It's about time I caught up, eh?

Enjoy your weekend!
